Stoppers for Vials
Stoppers are an essential part of many laboratory vials. They provide an air-tight seal that not only keeps the contents in the container intact but also protects them from contamination. Stoppers come in a variety of materials and sizes to fit different types of vials.
Suitable for use with a variety of dry packaged items, which include medications, such as pills in the pharmaceutical or laboratory sector, these stoppers also work well with ornamental display and craft items.
Choice of stopper material:
- Plastic (natural polyethylene) stoppers are commonly used to create air-tight seals with Display Vials (72016) and select sizes of Patent Lip (72017) and Shell Vials (72018). They are durable, chemically resistant, and can withstand temperatures up to 140°F (60°C). Natural polyethylene stoppers also provide superior seal integrity, making them an ideal choice for many laboratory applications.
- Cork stoppers offer an environmentally friendly alternative to other sealing materials such as plastic, rubber, and aluminum due to their natural composition which is biodegradable and renewable. Designed for us with Patent Lip (72017) and Shell Vials (72018), corks are easy to install and remove, providing an effortless way to securely seal a container. Corks are still a preferred choice for many products due to their excellent airtight and watertight properties.
